About the event

In this walk we will see 2000 years of history and visit some of London’s most amazing pubs.

We start at the uniquely shaped Black Friar pub. We will hear stories about the river Fleet, that still flows under out feet. It was on this site that representatives of the court of Henry VIII negotiated with the Charles V, the Papal Magistrate, the dissolution of the Kings marriage to Catherine of Aragon in 1532. We will then walk into Fleet Street, once the heart of the British newspaper industry. We will visit St Bride’s the journalist’s church. We will sample the gloomy charm of Ye Old Cheshire Cheese. This was one of Charles Dickens favourite watering holes.

We will later find ourselves in the hidden Middle and Inner Temple. We will then cross Temple Bar. We will visit London’s oldest Irish pub where apparently the first pint of Guinness was…
