Nearest Train and Tube Station: Victoria

In this walk I will lead you in the footsteps of Winston Churchill from the outbreak of World War II in September 1939 to VJ day in August 1945

This tour provides a fascinating insight into one of the greatest ever Britons. We will see how Churchill carried the burden of the Nation on his shoulders after becoming prime minister in May 1940 at the age of 65. This walk takes us through some of the hidden streets of Westminster. We will see some of London’s most famous landmarks, such as Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament. The walk will take us past the Churchill War Rooms, where Winston said he would conduct the war and vowed he would not be taken alive if the Nazis invaded. The two hour walk will then conclude at the Guards Chapel, Bird Cage Walk. Scene of one the most devastating V bomb attacks of World War II

For those who wish to continue for the three hour walk we will pass into St James, and finish at Claridge’s Mayfair. This is where in August 1945 Winston Churchill dined as news broke of the Japanese surrender and the end of the most devastating conflict in history
